...so we would make our own. Two or three times a year we would go to the farmer's market and get a giant bucket of habanero peppers. We would come home and Sia would make a batch of pepper sauce - maybe a dozen or so jars at a time. This would last us for a few months. We would give away jars of it here and there to family and friends, and we would always run out before we were ready. We would be without any pepper sauce for a couple of months until we made another batch. Eventually the list of people wanting a jar grew and we had to make bigger and bigger batches. Everyone kept saying "you guys should sell this stuff" so, well, now we are! It's the same sauce we've been making for ourselves for years. It's Sia's recipe. She made it trying to replicate the pepper sauce from back home in Liberia. We think it's close, but we like ours just a little bit better, and we think you will too! Give it a try, it's delicious!
This is truly a small business. We still have day jobs. This is more like our side gig. Yes, we would absolutely love for it to grow into something bigger, but just know that if you shop here you're not supporting some giant corporation. You're supporting our family. We are a women-owned, black-owned, immigrant-owned company trying to achieve the American dream, which to us is a dream that is still alive.
Yes we like our sauce so much that we bring it to restaurants when we go out. And we're not the only ones! By popular demand, we've made our pepper sauce available in these new little purse-sized jars. It's actually pretty awesome. There's been many times when having this in a purse took a boring meal to another level. If you know, you know! lol :)
